After selling the Explorer I'm now left with a large open area in the side path right in front of the storage trailer. Of course like the areas that are of a lower priority due to their not being used, this area too has grass all around. Now of course after the truck was pulled away I was able to go over the area with the trimmer to get all the grass trimmed down in preparation for the next load of gravel. I wasn't originally planning on putting my next load of gravel over this area, I was going to cover more of the extended driveway going between the house and garden. Since the Explorer sold, I just had to go ahead and get this area covered so I can better use this area as a work area for any car project that I determine worthy of setting up here to work on. I want this area since its right by the storage trailer where tools and supplies are just a hands reach plus I'm close to power. Being right by the main parking area/driveway, it makes it easy to move any car from a trailer right into the car park. Or, it makes it easier to just drive right into the work area to do any work then move the vehicle right back out without having to worry about maneuvering through other areas. One thing that is nice about this session of spreading gravel is the idea that because the area is right by the main driveway and its one small concentrated area, I was able to stage the truck over the area at an angle that allowed the rear of the truck to open up right onto the area that will accept the gravel. With this I was able to start shoveling the gravel right from the truck and onto the ground. There was no need for using the wheelbarrow. Unlike other sessions of spreading gravel, this session didn't take any time to complete. Since no time was spent shoveling gravel into the wheelbarrow then moving the wheelbarrow over to the spread site, the gravel was emptied from the truck fast. It was just the same movement of shoveling from the truck and dumping right onto the ground. A couple of times I did have to start the truck back up and move it forward to expose some more area for me to spread more gravel on. In probably an hour I had all of the gravel emptied out from the truck. With the gravel spread out and the F250 moved over to another area away from the main driveway I moved on to the next phase of the project. This phase is the moving of the LUV over to this car park area. Since this will most likely be the next car project I work on in the long term in order to finish up, it was the best candidate to move here. Besides, I had the LUV parked on the side of the main driveway, more or less in the way since the area was a grassy area that will do nothing but overgrow around the truck if left in place. To do this I pushed the LUV out into the driveway with the front pointing down the driveway since there is a downward grade to the driveway. It was easy to push out because of this. Once the truck was staged I then went ahead and hooked up the F250 to the rear of the LUV with a chain then started pulling the LUV over to the side car park. I ended up driving the F250 into the side path along side the storage trailer, pulling with the chain at an angle while keeping the wheels on the LUV at the angles necessary to guide the little truck into its new parking spot. Once the truck was parked in its new parking spot I was able to unhook the chain and just back the F250 out of the side path, past the storage trailer and the LUV and back out into the driveway to park it for when I make my next gravel haul. I will be getting another load of gravel to further cover the area around the LUV truck as there is some grassy area between the car park spot and the patch of gravel that I spread in the recent past along side the boat. I decided I'll go ahead and further cover up the area throughout this side path and car park area so this area can be one of those areas that I can use for working on cars without the worry of being right on top of dirt. There are some bare spots along side the fence behind the LUV that I still have to cover up along with the rest of the side car park leading back up to the main driveway. Since it doesn't take much to just go ahead and shovel the gravel out onto the ground, I can get this area covered up pretty fast with several successive loads of gravel. Hell, I might even be able to make two runs in one day on a Friday if I go in the morning, get a load and come back and dump it then go back for another one immediately afterward. I will be continuing to get gravel on the grounds here as we work our way into the cooler weeks ahead.
